As the need for high speed, high capacity storage increases, Toshiba has claimed a world first with the introduction of its 64GB SDXC flash memory card.
Compliant with the newest SD Memory Standard, the cards guarantee fast write (35MB/s) and read (60MB/s) speeds — great for devices capturing high definition video and audio as well as a range of other gadgets.
The capacity is great, but the speed is also vitally important because it means that compatible equipment will be able to do more — longer bursts of image capture in RAW format on digital SLR cameras, or the ability to transfer a 2.4GB video in just 70 seconds to name but two examples.
Don’t go rushing out to your local electrical store just yet, though, because they won’t be available en masse until spring next year.
