Digital radio manufacturer PURE has announced five new home audio systems: the Siesta Flow, Elan II, Chronos iDock Series II, Chronos CD Series II, and the Siesta iDock.
The Siesta Flow, retailing at around £100, is PURE’s most affordable Internet-connected radio, and has features which make it an ideal bedside alarm.
Bored by the same old alarm call every morning? The Siesta Flow has 365 different alarm tones, all downloaded from the PURE Lounge. Of course, there’s all the types of radio you’re likely to want built in as well: DAB, FM and Internet radio.
Everything is accessed via the home Wi-Fi connection, with access to podcasts and broadcasters’ “listen again” content and streaming from networked computers too.
There’s also a USB “PowerPort” built in, making it easy to charge up/run accessories that rely on USB.
The Elan II, also retailing at around £100, is a portable DAB/FM radio featuring pausing and rewinding of digital radio, Intellitext, textSCAN, input for MP3 player, timer, and 30 preset memory.
It has decent three-inch custom-wound speakers and a digital amplifier.
The Chronos iDock Series II (£100) offers many of the same features as the last two models, but incorporates an iPod dock.
If CDs are still your thing, the Chronos CD Series II (£100) offers DAB/FM radio and a built-in CD player.
Finally, the £90 Siesta iDock is a DAB/FM clock radio with iPod/iPhone dock.
All designed to be eco-friendly, using reduced power (less than one watt in standby mode), they’ll be available sometime before the end of the year.
