Atari on the XBL Arcade

Atari has pledged their support to the Xbox Live Arcade by letting it known that several games will be released throughout 2007. Games including Centipede, Asteroids, Battlezone, Missile Command, Warlords, and Tempest.

As we’ve seen with Konami, they’ll feature the usual visual and auditory facelifts, but with options to play the classics in their original forms.

It should be a fun time on the Arcade next year, though I really hope they look good on the 360. (Also, I wouldn’t mind some new original properties on the Arcade.)

Contra Coming to Xbox Live on Wednesday

My favorite game ever is coming out on the Xbox 360 arcade this wednesday: Contra! I thought I would have to wait and play the Konami classic on the Nintendo Wii, but for 400 Microsoft points I will be able to get the game.

It is going to be based off the classic Arcade game, not the NES one, but who cares?

Microsoft says Contra will appear on the marketplace starting at 1:00 a.m. PST on Wednesday.

Rainbow Six: Vegas on Xbox Live Marketplace

Yes, I know it was already released in other countries, but it does not count until it is released to North America, the place that I live, and since the game is about a city in the USA, it is only fitting that the game be released here, though it took them long enough.

The demo comes in at a little over 470MB, so get downloading. Your friends from the UK have already been playing the game for a week.

Xbox 360 Update Bricking Consoles: Now Fixed

If you have been holding off on connecting your Xbox 360 to the Internet for a few days due to fears that the update will only cause you problems, you were probably very smart, but now you can go ahead and connect up, as Major Nelson reports the problem that was bricking consoles has been fixed.

An updated version of the Fall Update is now available on Xbox Live which has elminated issues relating to new or refurbished consoles failing after applying the Fall Update. Users who have already applied the Fall Update and are seeing an error message should call their local Xbox Support telephone number. If you already have the update, you will not be prompted for another update.
