Another classic makes it to the Xbox Live Marketplace today with Dig Dug. The 11.57MB download is probably one of the smallest games to date, and you can play the trial up to round 2. To purchase the full game, it is only 400 Microsoft Points.
Don’t expect any advanced features or graphics from Dig Dug, which would have been nice for the 400 points they expect you to shell over.

I am a big DivX/Xvid fan, and I have been for some time, so to hear that the Xbox 360 might get support for the popular format makes me giddy.
Playing DivX movies on the Xbox 360 has been something that people have been doing for a while, but it was through hacks and conversions and a Media Centre PC.
Xlife bluntly asks the question though (translated from Dutch):
After the event I had a short talk with the host and asked him whether there’d ever be support for DivX and Xvid playback. Much to my surprise he started telling me that Microsoft is working hard to implement this and a firmware update is expected within 2 months allowing you to play DivX and Xvid directly on the 360.
Xboxic digs around to find out from one of Redmond’s higher ups that “the PS3 used to have 1080p, high-def DVD and DivX playback as its strong points over the 360, and so far we’ve taken down two fo them…”
Very interesting rumour. I hope its true.

If you have Xbox Live Gold, you will be one of many allowed to download the Beta for Phantasy Star Universe starting this Wednesday and Thursday. Players wil be able to beta test online for a week, ending October 18th.
After that, it will be $9.99 for a month or $49.99 for six months when the game ships to stores on October 24th. (Oh, and you have to still pay for the game too..even if you beta test). Crummy way to get you addicted, I know.

CPU Battle Mode
Successfully complete Arcade mode on any difficulty setting to unlock CPU Battle mode.
Skip Arcade Mode Opponents
While playing in Arcade mode, press Start on controller two. Choose a character and defeat them to no longer have to fight that character. Note: This cannot be done with M. Bison. Also, you cannot unlock achievements by doing this.

Successfully complete the game with all characters. Load the cleared saved game and choose to play as Aspharr to access the Varrvazzar bonus mission.
Inphyy bonus mission
Successfully complete the game with all default characters. Load the cleared saved game and choose to play as Inphyyy to access a bonus mission.
Play as Aspharr
Successfully complete Fort Wyandeek with Inphyy to unlock Aspharr.
Play as Dwingvatt
Successfully complete all missions with Aspharr and Myifee to unlock Dwingvatt.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 finally as a demo out, and no one really cared. The 916.15MB demo allows you to try a bunch of holes on a course. It also contains a tutorial video to help you play if you are as bad at golf on the Xbox 360 as I am in the real world.
Available in all regions the full version is supposed to come out October 17th on the Xbox 360.

If the DVD firmware hacking is not working for your newly purchased Xbox 360, it might be because Microsoft has changed the version of the Hitachi drives they use.
So if you have a post-August 2006 manufactured console in the UK or Australia, and probably soon to the rest of the world, the firmware hack no longer works, at least for now.
By the way, if you want to know what version you have, there’s a helpful sticker on the drive.
