Rugged, wearable video cameras aren’t particularly new, but the macho naming, bright design and feature set of the Predator VX360 caught my eye (as did the price tag).
The VX360 is described as “a totally rugged system”, being waterproof to a depth of three metres and able to withstand impact with rock and the abrasive effects of seawater.
The camera controls are worn on an armband while the fully adjustable eyeball camera is worn on a headband. There’s also a built in colour LCD screen.
Lightweight and versatile, it has a price point of £549.99 (about $900) so it’s probably not for the hobbyist. Still, if you’re a keen diver and have already shelled out on diving gear, the ability to capture video of your dives is a great addition.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get access to detailed specs, but I’d hope that the video resolution and frame rate is good.
