Turtle Beach to Release the First Wireless 360 Headset

Wireless 360 HeadsetClub Skill shows off what will be the first Wireless 360 headset, and it is coming from Turtle Beach, a well known audio company.

The ‘Ear Force X2’ is the first wireless headset created for both the Xbox 360 and Xbox.

Of course, with it being wireless you won’t have to worry about it getting tangled up with your controller, plus while chatting online you will have a stereo signal sent to both ears rather than the traditional mono signal. It also has lovely big pads on the headphones to reduce background noises and provide crystal clear clarity.

On release they will be around £49.95/$99.95.

I think it looks alright. I am not a fan of the big headsets, I like the tiny and almost futuristic look of the current monophone wired headset from Microsoft and third parties, but I could see this being useful for people that have annoying girlfriends.

Mad Catz Xbox 360 MC2 Racing WheelShowing that some of their products work really well, and coming out before a racing wheel from Microsoft, the MadCatz Xbox 360 MC2 Racing Wheel was recently reviewed by TeamXbox, and they gave it an eight point eight out of ten, and an Editor’s choice sticker, not too bad for a third party product.

The MadCatz MC2 Racing Wheel is a nice wheel that does everything as advertised. The pedals are the nicest set you’ll find south of an Enzo, with just the right amount of tension and those cool vector hinges mentioned above. The gear lever has an ultra-stiff spring, micro-switches for a positive feel, and an ergonomic design. The wheel, although a bit small, has just the right amount of tension and a non-slip grip. And the controls are where they need to be, and are devoid of any feel of cheapness.

I will grab one when they have force feedback, as I think it’d be great with Need For Speed: Most Wanted.

Club Skill looks at the MadCatz headset for the Xbox 360. It ends up with a rating of two out of a possible five, so this is probably not something you’d want to plug into your Xbox 360. Atleast, we know for sure now…

The great thing about the Official 360 Headset is the little ‘mute’ button and volume on your headset jack; this made life very easy indeed. The new MadCatz headset doesn’t have either, granted the wire is long and very flexible, but the only way to change the headset’s volume is going through your own personal menus. And if you want to mute your voice, you’re going to have to disconnect that headset.

Pelican Xbox 360 Fan StandPlanet Xbox looks at the Pelican Xbox 360 Fan Stand (PL-3619) which could be either a useless piece of junk, made only to make Pelican money, or a useful tool to stop your Xbox 360 from nearly lighting itself on fire.

Overall, I am pretty happy with the Pelican Fan Stand. It provides the extra air flow that my Xbox needed and at the same time can store 1 Game, a memory card and a remote for the 360 on it. The only downside for me was the fact that you manually have to turn on/off the fan every time you play. The switch itself is pretty small and it would be nice if there was some kind of a status light of the fan stand to tell us if the fan is on or off.

So, if your 360 is in a spot that has little to no air flow, I would suggest picking up this great accessory.

4GB Portable Xbox 360 USB HDD

4GB Portable Xbox 360 USB HDDA company that I have not heard of before, Datel, has announced a 4 gigabyte hard drive that is designed for the Xbox 360. Since it is USB, it can of course work with your computer too, but it has the colours of a stock Xbox 360, and while you can’t save your games on it, or anything, it could be a great little attachment for pictures and music. At around $135 US to preorder the device, people are wondering if it is really worth it.

I guess we will have to wait and see what public opinion says, though I wish it was a Microsoft product that allowed me to put my game saves and whatnot on it, like a giant memory card.

It looks like someone really likes the Xbox 360 Harmony Advanced Universal Remote from Logitech, as on Krunker.com there is a full review with pictures, and in the end he summarizes his experience in three sentences.

Life is absolutely chummy with the Logitech Harmony Advanced Unversal Remote for Xbox 360 – so much so that I’ve put the Sony remote up for sale now. The key to making the Harmony remote work for you is in the setup/configuration. Once you have the configuration down pat, this will be the only remote control that you’ll ever need – especially for Xbox 360 console owners.

RF Adaptor for the Xbox 360I need one of these! My television, as I have mentioned before is so old that it looks like one of the first televisions to use a remote control. I swear it is from the late seventies or early eighties. It is a 20″ Chromatic Space Command. Currently, I have to use my VHS tape player as the middle guy to hook up the Xbox 360. This also created the horrible problem of not being able to watch DVD’s from the Xbox 360, which was found out to be due to the Macrovision copy protection so that I won’t record DVD’s onto VHS tapes.

You wander around your local video game store, a little bored, just looking for something new. Nothing catches your eye, and then suddenly BAM! You feel like you’re on the moon. They couldn’t have possibly made something this silly, could they? Of course they could.

They are available from Gamestop for $9.99 USD. I wonder how much it would cost me to get one…

No, this is not for the immense power brick which is more in need of cooling, or atleast that is what I heard, but this $20 stand from Gamestop will add stability to your console when standing on its side, and keep it cooler than it currently is, which can’t be a bad thing.
