Okay, so even Sony Ericsson is getting into the Google Android act. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 (also called the Rachel) is going to be unveiled this November 3, and we are really devoid of any real information about this highly-anticipated phone.
The Rachael will be Sony Ericsson’s first Android smartphone. Its features should include a 4 inch WVGA touchscreen display, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, Wi-Fi, GPS, 8MP autofocus camera and a 3.5mm headset jack.
The new Blackberry Bold 9700 was announced by RIM recently, and boy oh boy it looks great. It will also rock the new Blackberry OS 5, and it’ll start shipping globally next month.

After the relative success of the Android-based Motorola Cliq, it’s pretty obvious that Motorola considers Google’s phone OS to be its ticket to be number one yet again.
It’s no surprise then that Motorola is going to make 8 phones rocking China Mobile’s version of Android, called Ophone.
The handsets details are still under wraps but China Mobile has confirmed that Motorola will provide eight Ophone models to them that are scheduled to go on sale by next year.
Other companies that are said to launch Ophone handsets are Dell, Lenovo and Samsung.

Okay, I know it doesn’t look much. But don’t judge this baby for its looks alone. Okay, this is the first the first handset with 1.6 Donut installed. And yeah, we know that the Android installed here is plain vanilla, which isn’t really nice to look at especially after seeing the HTC Hero or the Motorola Cliq.
But let us look under the hood and you’ll see why I want the Liquid A1. This is running on 1GHz Snapdragoc processor. You heard it right, guys. The Liquid is the first Android phone to run on the Snapdragon. To make the deal sweeter, it also has a 800×400 resolution screen. Imagine that, it’s the same resolution as a first-generation Asus Eee PC!

Okay, we’re all heavily anticipating Nokia’s new Maemo-powered phone, the N900. I’m one of the few who would atually prefer this over the iPhone. No, seriously.
As you can see, the browser is running on the Mozilla engine, and quite frankly, that’s a huge plus factor for me. As much as I love the Opera Mini 5 beta running on my phone, I’m excited to see a mobile device running a Mozilla browser.
Also, full Flash. How many mobile devices can boast of that? I’m kinda disappointed that they’re using Flash 9.4, but I’m pretty sure they’ll be using Flash 10 once the N900 comes out.
One feature I loved about the browser would be the new finger gestures. Just look at the “spiral” motion to zoom in and out of web pages, which differs from the “pinch and stretch” motion that is favored by most other multi-touch smartphones like the Palm Pre and Apple iPhone.
With Windows Mobile 6.2 coming out, it’s no surprise that mobile phones running the new OS are being launched. The HTC HD2 is one of them. Boasting of a 1GHz Snapdragon procoessor, a 5 megapixel camera, 512MB ROM/448MB RAM, 7.2Mbps UMTS/HSPA, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and G-Sensor, it also features HTC’s Sense UI.
First off: it’s a big phone. That said, the UI is way better than then iPhone.

A recent study out by Interpret has revealed that the Palm Pre is the second “smartest” mobile device on the market. Second only to the iPhone.
Interpret reveals that despite being massively disadvantaged in the marketplace, Palm managed to nab a huge chunk of mindshare with the Pre — in fact, the report suggests that the Pre is number two only to the iPhone 3GS in the metric. The study looks at the driving factors behind purchaser’s decisions to buy a smartphone, narrowing down the list to three major components: belief that the phone is “smart,” belief that the phone is “hip / cool,” and belief that the phone will make them more productive.
Personally I have tried both phones out, and I like the Pre, but I believe the iPhone has a much sleeker, easy to use interface, and it definetly more a hip, cool , and easy to justify phone. The Palm Pre on the other hand is probably more geared towards an active business executive who wants more phone and less music and multimedia capability.

Cellular Blowout is a great website that offers thousands of models of phones. It’s reliable and they will even ship internationally if you ask them nicely. Often times it beats the prices you can find at the local marketplaces, or in cell phone storefronts in Latin America.
2 Amazon
Amazon.com is another alternative that provides a decent selection of unlocked cell phones, but the problem here is they are often times over priced, and shipping is a high priced burden. But the quality is often times better than the others as far as high end phones go.
3 Ebay
Your other option is to find a dealer on Ebay, and my experience with Ebay has been hit and miss. You can find good dealers, but the pitfalls of finding a dealer who is based in the US who sends you a crappy phone is not worth the hassle. I personally would rather go with a reputable website, who will guarantee me the product versus finding a mom and pop dealer on Ebay. However if you have a particular phone in mind it might be the trick for you.
