Have you ever been in love?
I have. And the moment I stepped out of that room, I felt so giddy, and there was a silly grin on my face, and all I could blabber was, “Have you ever been in love?”
I walked through the streets in a daze, and I knew that I was virtually afloat, because I know have found my match.
Remember, back in January 15, I had blogged about the Macbook Air as soon as I got wind of it? And on the 26th of March, 2008, I first caressed one in my hands and appreciated the fact that I may not have desires to toss it away from me if and when I carry it around with me in the metro.*
It’s been a few days over a year that I have had Sayuri, and because of my OS X experience, I am NEVER going back to Windows again.
Sure I miss needing only to click the X button in order to close my programs. With OS X, I need to go through the menu to quit my programs. But I NEVER, EVER, missed having to restart when the computer blinks out on me, never, ever missed the fact that I lose a lot of data when there are power outages, and I never, ever miss the fact that it takes me only 2 weeks on P2P before I overrun my system with malware.
But I digress. On that fateful day in March 26, I knew that all my prayers were answered:
- The Macbook Air’s trackpad can do sidescrolling! Yipee!
- The keyboard is.. Divine. Same feel as the Macbook’s, but in my appraisal, it seems more resistant to the dirt that Sayuri seems to soak up just sitting in front of me.
- It is made of Aluminum! I had never felt fear so deep as when I first saw the first crack on Sayuri’s right-hand armrest. Well, this is dramatic, but you get the picture.
- It is… Thin! Oh so thin, so thin, so thin!!! And light! Oh, my back shall be so happy!
In short, I have newfound courage, and a new materialistic target. I have decided to finally work my butt off and stop hanging out in forums and social networks, and be more disciplined, and to streamline my life. A Macbook Air to target next year would be a very sweet reason to work my butt off in 2009. 🙂
*Even though the Macbook is only 5lbs, quite a light notebook, compared to others in the market, when I carry it in my bag, along with my leather diary, a Bible, among other what-not, I do get tempted with desires to throw the bag, with the Macbook, far away from me because it is so heavy. That is why I am currently desiring a Macbook Air. 🙂
