If you’re on the lookout for a docking station for your precious Apple iPad do check out the Sound Step and Sound Step Recharge from Soundfreaq.
Soundfreaq has come out with two very cool iPad docking stations that will compliment your iPads quite well. The two models have a very small and svelte silhouette and are compact enough not to occupy a lot of space on your desk. The difference between the two models is that the Sound Step does not have a rechargeable battery, which the Sound Step Recharge has. The rechargeable battery in the Recharge model is enough to give you six straight hours of playback.
The two items are not really exclusive iPad accessories. It is also compatible with all of Apple’s portable devices and even with Android and Blackberry gadgets, which makes it quite adaptable and, thus, a great bargain if you are the type who have many different gadgets with different operating systems (and as a gadget lover, it’s almost sure that you do).
The Sound Step and Sound Step Recharge feature Bluetooth connectivity, which menas you can stream your music directly to the speakers without having to establish a physical connection through the dock or with wires. But even with wireless connectivity these products still have a 3.5 MM line-in jack and also a USB charging port that will allow you to charge other devices aside from the one that is docked or connected with the station.
The Sound Step and Sound Step Recharge both carry Soundfreaq’s patented UQ3 spatial sound enhancement. Through extrapolation the dock is able to produce a dedicated low bass sound akin to what a subwoofer produces, and also very clean stereo separation. These are qualities you wouldn’t even imagine in such small speakers or from such a diminutive docking station.
