Multimedia docks became very popular when Apple’s i devices took off. The product that opened the door to docks was the iPod. Many manufacturers came out with various products to maximize the use of the iPod so that people can share their music in a larger environment. The introduction of other Apple portable devices means new dock configurations and figures will also be introduced.
One such product comes from JVC. The famous electronics manufacturer has created a new niche in the market with the JVC UX-VJ5. The scenario goes like this, you have a dock for an Apple device and you took pains to buy one where it is compatible with the iPod, iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad. You’re Apple crazy so you want maximum compatibility. But the problem is, when you hook up one device on your dock all of the others won’t have a home and you have no choice but to keep them somewhere and just swap devices if you want to listen to content that is only found in another Apple product.
The JVC UX-VJ5 solves the problem of having many Apple devices and only one dock by making a product that has two docks. Yes, this product features dual docks so you can attach two Apple devices to it. With two docks, you can now play content from two separate Apple devices without having to physically detach one and swap with another device. All you’ll need to do is to select which source you want to play content from. The UX-VJ5 has two 15 watt speakers that are enough to provide full sound to any room. It also has AV out so you can connect the dock to your A/V receiver or send video directly to a TV. If the two docks are not cool enough, JVC has also managed to put in a CD player behind one of the panels of the dock itself. The player doesn’t just play music, you can actually rip CDs and copy it to an external USB device.
