Just recently (I think around mid-December), I had updated Sayuri’s firmware. I had griped about it last December 11, and I was really, as in REALLY dissatisfied with it. But days later, Apple pushed a Security Update on me, so I bit the bait and got it.
I noticed Sayuri seemed faster and could now handle more apps, as opposed to the post-firmware-update fiasco. Which really made me happy, and I believe, it made Sayuri happy too. 🙂 Now all I need to do is to buy that power cord for my external drive so I can free up Sayuri’s fast-clogging hard drive. 🙁

In other news, I had gone blog-setup-crazy and as a result, I have… Oh I dunno, I lost count. THREE new monetized blogs, one resurrected monetized blog, and still another active monetized blog, totaling SIX monetized blogs, and a few others which are not monetized, but they do try to pull in traffic and revenue. The operative word is “try”. :p
Also, you can now see me on blog-tutorials.com! Yay!
And also, I went Twitter-crazy!
Gosh, all these blogs and accounts. You think I won’t get in a tizzy because of these?
But to continue my ramble, have I ever told you how I got to naming my computer “Sayuri” and much like a Vampire contamination, I had “turned” one of my best buds into “one of us” gadget-namers too? 😀
Well the gadget naming started when I had stumbled upon the blog of a local celebrity. She had named her Powerbook G4 “Oubli”. Since then, I had made up my mind to name my laptop. I racked my brain, had a choice of three dorky, cutesy names:
- Ice Queen
- Snow Princess (qué horror!)
- Sayuri
Sayuri reflected my Asian heritage the most, and since it’s the name of the central-character geisha in Memoirs of a Geisha: the paragon of purity+forced unwholesomeness and yet, in spite of it all, she was also dignity maintained, and since it’s also the sexiest, least-dorky of the three names, I decided on Sayuri.
Now all the mushy geekies say “Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww!” :p
