iPhone 6 Sales Pass 10 Million Mark in First Weekend
Apple announced sales figures pertaining to the new iPhone 6, and it’s looking good for the company. The iPhone 6 and it’s counterpart the iPhone 6 plus have already made over a crushing 10 million sales in only three days time! The new devices launched over the weekend, and have since shattered records of any other Apple opening weekend.
These are amazing sales figures for Apple, and likely intimidating for their competition. But this should come as no surprise, considering Apple had revealed these devices had already broken pre-order records, to the point of the incessant web traffic crashing its website.
Current Apple CEO Tim Cook stated “Sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn’t be happier. We would like to thank all of our customers for making this our best launch ever, shattering all previous sell-through records by a large margin.” He then apologized, “While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible.”
So based on that, we can assume that despite shattering previous launch weekend records, Apple could have moved even more units, had supply constraints not come into play as the sole limiting factor. Needless to say, one can expect the devices to move in even greater frequency and break even more records when they are launched throughout the world in more locations.
The devices are currently available in the United States, the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Australia, Puerto Rico, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong. The iPhone 6 will be continued to be released in 20 other countries at the end of the week. By the end of the year, the iPhone 6 will be available in over 115 countries worldwide.
