Web Advertising is going to start getting a little more interesting. Atleast that’s my prediction. With Microsoft looking to push their way into the online advertising market more with the launch of a new Ad program. And the news of
An advertising program that will help bring online advertising to the big screen. Spotrunner offers a little customization and is a pretty nice little system. It also allows blogs, and other smaller technology companies a shot at advertising. What I’m really waiting for is the ability to upload your own commercials. That would be really nice. Think if you could also tag TV, and could do contextual advertising based on these results.
This could revolutionize the way we think about advertising on TV too. Let’s take Chris P’s Idea for a minute. Cable TV, and TV in general needs to change. Especially with more and more vCasters going online it all could change and if I was a play er like Yahoo I would move in buy TiVo and begin forcing it to change. Think about it. Plugin your Tivo to the web download todays programs via ITunes and customize your own channels, programming and the whole works. Interact that with custom contextual advertising and what you get is TV 2.0.
Let’s move beyond Advertising into Infomercial spots. Think of being able to upload your VCast directily onto late night TV. Now that would SpotRunner 2.0.
